Sneak Peak at Sigma Beauty's Upcoming Products

*whispers* Ok guys... I just found some awesome top-secret news that I can't POSSIBLY keep to myself! Sigma Beauty has a few new products they are rolling out around the holidays, and if you haven't tried any of their products... the time to do so is NOW! And if you have, you're probably already planning on buying ALL of this because you know they won't disappoint! This is a top secret mission... 007 Reporting....

Mission #1: The Cities Collection...Launch Date: November 21, 2011.

The Cities are Sigma Beauty’s special edition travel kit collection! Special Edition AKA EXCLUSIVITY!!! The kits include seven travel-sized brushes(E05 Eyeliner, E35 Tapered Blending, E45 Small Tapered Blending, E60 Large Shader, F05 Small Contour, F15 Duo Fibre, and F30 Large Powder). The E35 is by far my favorite blending brush!

The brushes come in a travel-size container that turns into two brush holders, just like the Make Me Up Kits. Each kit was designed to represent the beauty and excitement of the city it is named after. There are four kits in this exciting collection: London (brown), Tokyo (pink), Paris (red)and New York (black). Personally... I gravitate towards Tokyo!

All of these brushes are PERFECT for travel because they are the essentials! More pictures and more item releases to come closer to the dates! That is the first upcoming set... but rest assured I will keep you guys posted with everything else! Oh, just an FYI, there will be a Black Friday deal... Once I find out what that is I'll pass it along too!

Make sure you follow my blog to find out more updates! This message will self-destruct in 5,4,3,2.....

Best wax strips? Salon Perfect- Perfect Brow Shapers Review

Forgive me for not blogging in a while... I'm in somewhat of a transition & haven't been able to find the time. However... I HAD to tell you guys about these strips from Salon Perfect!I won a twitter giveaway they did a while back and had NO idea how they were about to get me hooked to their products! This was one of the few things they sent me, I'll review the rest in the future, and I'm in love with it.

I didn't think pre-adhesive strips would really help wax my brows, but honeyyyyyy these things are good!!!!! I used them under my brows and because they're shaped so perfectly I didn't have to work that hard for the shape.

I tried them on my forehead to get the 3 whole hairs of my unibrow.... Not a good idea, maybe because I didn't have enough hair there. They burned my forehead :-( So I would recommend using them only under your brows where the skin is a little less sensitive and used to having skin pulled slightly.

Other than that I LOVE these strips and would recommend them! Have you ever tried Salon Perfect Perfect Brow Shapers..... Wait til you hear my review of their lashes :-D

Ulta's Amazing Sale.... BOGO Free Butter London!!!

If you follow me on Twitter,(which you should.. c'mon... It's fun), then you saw my tweet about the AWESOME BOGO Free sale Ulta had on Butter London nail polish! These nail polishes are world-renound and are 3-free (no formaldehyde, toluene, or DBP).... so they're good for you and the earth! They retail at $14 a bottle, which is just ridiculous in my eyes! However.. that buy one, get one free made them $7/ bottle which is MUCH more reasonable! Reasonable enough for me to buy FOUR BOTTLES! LOL

I chose to get colors for the fall because this past spring/summer I went crazy and I just don't need any more polishes as of now! Also, and kid with a new toy wants something they can use NOW... so I had to buy fall colors!

This picture above are the following colors from left to right...
British Racing Green- a gorgeous deep forest green color, perfect for fall!
Henley Regatta- a pretty blue, green, & teal mixture of small glitter (I've already paired this over my Austin-tatious Turquoise... DIVINE)
Big Smoke- a deep navy blue with a pinkish reflux
Rosie Lee- MY FAV PICK!!! This is a rose gold glitter that I DIED over as soon as I saw it!

I saved $28 that day at Ulta, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! So... if you want the latest scoop on new deals, make sure you follow me on Twitter because I don't always have access to blog instantly!

If you got anything post a pic of tell me the name of it.. I'd love to know!

My new fav hairspray!!!!! CHI Enviro 54

I absolutely SWEAR by this hairspray! This is CHI Enviro 54 Natural Hold Hairspray. I have always used a CHI flat iron, but never any of their hair products. Let me just say... I have found a new hair obsession in this product! I've never had such great hold WITHOUT ending up with crunchy hair!

My hair never stays when I curl it, but with this hairspray the most I end up with is looser waves versus a complete mess for a hairstyle. I picked this up at Ulta for about $4 for 2.6oz. Imaginably, this is not the cheapest hairspray, but you get what you pay for.... And this is worth every penny!

Give this a try, even if you buy the small travel version, like me....

Korres Guava Little Showergel Review

I got this Korres Guava Little Showergel in my Birchbox and decided to give it a try. This showergel is supposed to help maintain the natural moisture levels in your skin due to emollients and humectants in the formula. It is paraben-free & contains no phtalates, petrochemicals, or synthetic fragrances for those of you who look out for that. It's about 20 bucks for 13.5 ounces at Sephora.

I have used this showergel a LOT and I have to say, it makes my skin verrrry soft. I have the tendency to shower in the morning and not have enough time to lotion my whole body, and I notice that I don't end up being extremely dry and ashy like I would normally.

Personally, $20 is a bit much for showergel, so I'm not sure that this would be the first thing I'd reach for. But since it came in my birchbox I am not complaining about using it. Maybe if I build up enough Birchbox credits I'll use them on this because it really does seem to work!

If you don't mind spending a little extra to get a better quality body wash, then I would definitely recommend this product! It smells great, too!! Let me know if you guys give it a whirl!

Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion Review

So this came in one of my Birchboxes one month and I was out of moisturizer and didn't feel like running to CVS. I decided to just use this and run to the store in the morning. I have to say, this was not as good as my drugstore, knock-off facial moisturizer.

This is definitely a facial LOTION and not to be mistaken for a liquid facial moisturizer. It has a VERY thick consistency, almost to the point that I couldn't spread it across my face without feeling like I was pulling my skin. Not only was it EXTREMELY thick, it didn't moisturize very well. I woke up the next morning with dry patches on my face from where this product couldn't make up for where my Differin gel was applied. I'm sure it would work on normal skin, but I need something that won't be completely outdone by my drying differin gel. For me, personally, this product is a no-go! I will be sticking to my CVS brand facial moisturizer!

Just wanted to give you guys an update on my Birchbox products I've tried out!

Jewelmint!!! My latest addiction!

This, ladies and gents, is a beautiful creation called The Bullet Necklace from Jewelmint! And I got it for HALF OFF!!! Honeyyyy... just keep reading if you like what you see! (and for a discount code) ^_^

If you haven't heard of jewelmint it is a monthly subscription service of $29.99 that Cher Coulter & Kate Bosworth started. The pieces that are available are sooooo gorgeous, solid, and expensive-looking!

There's always free shipping and if for some reason you don't see styles you like or you just can't afford it that month.... you can SKIP a month, no questions asked!!! Gurrrrrl, just put a reminder in your phone if you know the next month may be a little tight! Haha

What you do is take a style quiz and it puts together a showroom for you. This was in my showroom and I HAD to buy it! The good thing is that there's a 50% off code for your first purchase. Just put MAV5 in the coupon box and you'll pay just shy of $15 for your first piece!

Each piece comes with a description and a gorgeous jewelry box, too. I discuss it more in detail here, but I just had to give my blog followers a chance to find out about it just in case you don't keep up with my YouTube videos.

That is the box it comes in and this picture does it no justice! The quality of this service is insane... so, go SIGN UP... and let me know if we have the same style or if you found something better you think I might like!!! :-)

Loving this Brush!!- Hollywood Glamour Retractable Kabuki

I have been COMPLETELY addicted to this Sigma Hollywood Glamour Retractable Kabuki Brush. This is one of the softest brushes I've come across and it gives the perfect application of powder. It's made with Sigmax fibers (Sigma's synthetic line of HD brushes) and because of that it gives a very good application. It's retractable too, which, IMO, helps the brush keep it's shape longer. The small size of this brush makes it great for travel as well.... trust me, I would know thanks to my #suitcasesummer!!

I won this brush through a Twitter giveaway and I am HOOKED to this line from Sigma, now!

Just figured I'd let you guys know my latest addiction! What's yours?!

Kind Fruit & Nut Bar from my Birchbox!

So I know this isn't really BEAUTY related, but it did come out of my BirchBox so I wanted to review it! The Kind Fruit & Nut bar is one of Cynthia Rowley's recommended items and I have to say it was DELICIOUS!!! I'm not really an almond lover, but I really enjoyed this bar! I had this as breakfast and it really held me over. You can literally see the pieces of everything that is on it and the apricot is so chewy it's divine. I devoured this in 2.5seconds flat lol.

Again, I know this is a random post, but I had to tell you guys about it! I've heard that these are sold in Starbucks, so pick one up & let me know what you think!!

CVS 25% off entire purchase!!

If you are signed up to receive emails from CVS you know they are having a sale for 25% off your entire purchase using your Extra Care card through 7/24!!!!!!!!! If you are a CVS-a-holic like I am then you are probably JUMPING on this deal! I also have some extrabucks, a $2.00 off coupon for Organix items and a few other coupons I plan to combine with this deal! I never pay full price for anything... well if I can control it! This is not good on sale items, but it's still a good deal! I'm not sure if you need the in-store coupon or if it'll print out at that little coupon thingy when you scan your ExtraCare card! Either way get yo booty out to CVS and save on the things you were going to buy anyway!

Just figured I'd share this with you guys!! I'll be tweeting what my deals were! Happy shopping!!

My fav summer hairstyle!

Braids and twists are a HUGE hairstyle this summer, and I am in LOVE with it! North Carolina is a VERY humid area and by the end of the day my hair tends to be a humongous BUSH! When I wear my hair in this style it seems to keep the volume down, and is a very cute look! Sometimes I even spice up the twists with putting my loose hair in a side braid/fishtail braid to give it even more of a boho look!

To achieve this look I just start twisting my hair that's at the front of my head and keep picking up pieces to twist as I follow the hairs along my hairline. Be careful not to pull too tight or you may break off your hair! I fasten each twist with bobby pins in the back of my head, and then I'm out the door! This look is so simple and takes me 5mins TOPS!

If you want me to do a tutorial on my YouTube channel just write it in the comments & I'll be sure to!

Stay cool...

Recent features... I feel humbled!

Hey guys!!!

I know it's been a while since I've blogged, but my life has been going a thousand miles a minute because of my self-proclaimed #suitcasesummer lol.

Just wanted to clue you guys in on some things that have really made me smile lately. When I went to IMATS I got a chance to talk to the women behind the scenes of StyleHaul (a really awesome channel on YouTube that has different mini-series like TheHaul & BrokeGirls Guide). Well I got to do a description of my favorite video on YouTube, and although the whole description didn't make the cut, I did get 5seconds of fame at the 4:22 mark! It was their IMATS edition video and I was towards the end of it! This totally made my day since I've been watching this channel for a while! Click here to watch that video.

THEN, I logged into Beautylish one day, one of the million times I do so daily, and I noticed this cool summer nail trends article. Wellllllllll after reading through the article I realized my video was featured here!!!!!!!

I've got a few more things in the works and I'm really excited about it! Just wanted to give you guys an update on the excitement in my life..... Back to my Chemistry training course!

Hautelook Urban Decay Sale

If you don't know what Hautelook is you don't know what you're missing!!! It's a discount, members only, site that offers different sales on everything from shoes to resorts. You can sign up here if you do not already have an account! Recently I shopped their Urban Decay sale and although I didn't buy a lot the deals were insane!!!!!! I got two eyeshadows (in jones and electric) and I got an Ink for Eyes cream eyeliner in Pyrotechnics. I paid $5 for each of these items! Yeah, I said it... $5.00!!!!! I saved $20.95 on my Hautelook purchase versus if I bought it in stores! They always have awesome sales like these, trust me, you WANT to sign up for this site.

The blue eyeshadow is Electric and it is a matte shadow with an AWESOME pigmentation! This is such a deep yet still bright shade! I brought this with me to LA and can't wait to play with it!!!! Jones is what I thought would be an orange color but it ended up being more of a goldish peach tone and a little less pigmented than electric! The eyeliner is not my favorite, I cannot lie. You have to put quite a bit on before you notice the glitter, but I'm sure if it was a colored eyeliner it would be perfect. The cream consistency does make it much easier to work with and a lot more forgiving.

Overall this is a great deal and Hautelook is an awesome site and if you get a chance to check it out you won't be disappointed!

Favorite Lip Combo Now!!

I am loving this combination on my lips! It was in my May Favorites and may just make it to my June as well!!

It's MAKE UP FOR EVER's Rouge Artist Intense #22 and Ulta's Mineral Lipgloss in Pink Topaz. The MUFE lipstick is such a light tan color that it doesn't compliment my skin tone at all, but with the pinkish Ulta gloss it's the perfect nude lipe for me!

The lipstick was about $22, but I didn't want to return it once I realized I didn't like it. So I found a way to make it WERRRRRRRK!!!! Haha

What is your favorite lipstick/ combo?! I love suggestions!!!!

Bringing my makeup room together....

I've been so excited about moving into a townhouse to have a spare bedroom for my makeup room/ office. I started off by getting a rolling organizer cart that I saw in a youtuber's makeup tour video. I don't know why, but I instantly fell in love with it. I had been searching the internet and everywhere I looked it was $60+. NO SIR! Not for a PLASTIC CART! lol. Turns out a YouTuber sent me a link to it on Sam's Club's website and it was only $30!!!

Lots of pieces, not too difficult assembly. But I LOVE it! Can't wait to decorate my room!!! :-)

Sally Hensen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips Review

I've recently done a tutorial on how to put on the Sally Hensen Salon Effects Strips on my youtube channel. The application of these strips was very easy and took minutes to do. I decided to use them as an accent nail on my ring fingers. This allowed me to use one strip on two nails (since I keep my nails short).

Well it's been 10 days since I've applied them and they are still on strong!!! They lasted longer than the nails I polished gold! These things are absolutely wonderful! They're about $8.50 at Walmart and if you are one of those people who doesn't have time for nail art this is a definite option!

What do you guys think?

Organix Tea Tree Mint Shampoo/ConditionerReview!

Ran out of shampoo... went to get my Pomegranate Green Tea formula and it was NOWHERE to be found. I decided to stick with the Organix line and went with the tea tree mint scent. I have to admit, though.... This formulation does not seem to make my hair look as smooth as the other one. Maybe because the pomegranate green tea was termed "revitalizing" and the tea tree mint is "hydrating!" Guess I need more revitalization to my hair than I do hydration because I have dry hair and the pom green tea claims to revitalize that type of hair. I do not think it does much hydrating either. For some reason my hair doesn't look the same with this shampoo/conditioner set. It's like my hair needs more serum after washing than it used to in the past!

Overall, I do not think this product works as well in my hair. It may be because I had such an attachment to my pom version of it! This only gets 3 stars from me! :-(

NYX Lashes Review.... Every woman's friend!!

I love a little drama in my night looks, and sometimes I just like to lengthen my natural looks. NYX lashes are the best thing in the world to me! They are just the right price range without looking too cheap! The more expensive lash brands, of course, look much more natural! NYX is the brand that hits in-between for me. These lashes are thick enough in the band to get a good glue application, but not so thick that they are obvious and hideous.

If you want to try out lashes and are hesitant to spend 20 bucks on a pair. Try starting off with a NYXpair of your choosing and let me know how you like it!

GIVEAWAY & Review!!!!!!! | Sigma E25 travel size blending brush

I have great news for you guys! After I fell in love with my Sigma brushes I decided to become a Sigma Affiliate to be in the know about their products and to have a working relationship with them to sponsor these giveaways! Since they are nice enough to do these giveaways for their affiliates there was no way I would pass up giving you guys something for FREE.

Since I do not have a HUGE amount of blog followers I am starting at the lower tier of prizes, but trust me... As my blog grows they will get larger! To start off I will be reviewing and giving away one of my favorite brushes by far..... The BLENDING BRUSH, the E25. If you saw my Make me up review then you know that the blending brush is a crucial brush to have in your collection! This brush is travel size so the handle is smaller, but it is still just as effective.

This brush is used for blending out harsh lines of eyeshadow and can also be used to apply highlight color under the brow. This brush is oval shaped which allows it to perfectly pick up and blend those harsh lines between colors. Harsh lines, if unintentional, can destroy a look... So this is a must have. This brush alone is a definite must for everyone's brush collection and there are plenty of ways to get it from Sigma (whether from a kit or individual)!

Now for the contest rules to those who want to win this FABULOUS brush!
1) You must be a follower of my blog
2) You have to write a comment on this post saying what you favorite Sigma brush is.... Browse the website if you don't have one yet... Who knows, you may see one you like.
3) This contest is INTERNATIONAL! I will pick the winner from followers who have subscribed by May 24th at 8:00PM.
4) Sigma is shipping off the prize, so the winner will have 48 hrs to get back to me or a new winner will be selected!

Good luck, and I hope you guys fall in love with this brush as much as I have!!!!!

Organix Cherry Blossom & Argan Oil Replenish Night Cream Review

I know I am only 24, but aging happens throughout life, so you have to fight the signs early! I have added an extra step into my skincare routine to fight off saggy skin!!!

The Organix brand hasn't let me down yet, so I guess I decided I would give some of their skincare a try! The Organix Ever Ageless Cherry Blossom & Argan Oil Replenish Night Cream is a deliciously smelling way to fight off wrinkles. Of course, I can't tell just how effective this is at fighting my wrinkles, but I can definitely tell that it is moisturizing my under eye area (which was very dry)! Also, dry skin leads to wrinkles, so I guess you can say this is working! I also make sure I use this under my chin and neck area... I apply it in an upward circular motion to stimulate your skin staying UP!!! Never pull your skin down!... Gravity is doing that enough!

Overall I don't know if I would call this a miracle product, but if you are younger and want to keep your skin moisturized to avoid wrinkles as long as possible....give this product a whirl.

Let me know what you think of this product....

MAC Ever Hip Lipstick Review | Fashion Flower Collection

This lipstick was featured in my April Favorites video.. I know it came out at the end of the month, but I fell in love with it that fast!!!

This is a very pretty coral color that fits right in line with the orange/coral lip trend for spring! This is definitely a color for those who may not want to do the bright orange, but still keep you in with the trends. This color is well pigmented, and still gives me a nude feel (on my skintone). I did not feel like it was drying my lips, which a lot of lipsticks tend to do.

I also got this product for free when I did Back to Mac so that makes it even better! If you have a little extra cash and haven't checked out the Fashion Flower collection you should definitely give it a go! It is the perfect collection for spring!

St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser Review

I have been changing my skincare routine a lot and I wanted to try out a cleanser that I used when I visited my sister in New York!

St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser claims to clear breakouts and reduce redness..... and I ACTUALLY AGREE WITH THEM!!! My skin is the clearest it has been in a while, and when I do have random pimples they're not nearly resembling the pulsing red mountain they usually are.

I use this cleanser every day & night paired with the disposable CVS scrubbing pads I've reviewed, and my face has transformed itself. Not only is it acne free (thanks to the 2% Salicylic Acid), its also smooth as a baby's bottom! Maybe the Olive Oil & Leaf Extract has something to do with that!

If you're in the market for a new cleanser and have fairly sensitive skin, I say give this "natural" cleanser a try! You won't be disappointed!

Spring/ Summer Necessities to BEAT THE HEAT!!!!!

With the weather warming up you have to work even hardEr to keep your makeup (and your body) fresh!!! I'm going to give you guys a list of 3 essential items that I think are a definite MUST to beat the heat!!!!

1. Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing sheets, or if you're cheap like me... get the CVS brand! teehee! If you get hot you are BOUND to get oily, unless the skin god's have so graciously blessed you!! One individual sheet can soak up any T-Zone or face oils without removing your makeup! One mistake people make is to just continuously pile on their powder to absorb the oil... WRONG! This makes your makeup UBER caked on, further clogging your pores and it doesn't really help solve the problem.

2. Murad Oil Mattifying Lotion! I DIED for this product! My girlfriend works at a massage salon and she turned me on to this stuff. It has saved my LIFE!!! There are also other mattifying products on the market.... you can give those a whirl too! I only put this in my T-Zone because that's my worst area, and it really helps keep my oil at bay.

3. Secret flawless renewal! Now I KNOW y'all didn't think I would talk about beating the heat & not touch on deodorant!!!! Staying fresh is a MUST in the heat, and this deodorant goes a step above! I workout very often and sweat a lot, so when it was time to buy more deodorant the "renewal" aspect of this brand caught my eye! I HAAAAATE deodorants that mix with sweat and smell worse than must so I decided to give this a try. I got the totally fresh scent and it literally renews itself as I sweat... like, seriously... no, for real... it smells like I just put it on!

These are my random picks... If you had to pick 3, what would yours be?!

Sigma Make Me Up Kit Review

*Sigma brushes have the purple/pink handle.... Crown Brushes have the black!*

I've recently decided to purchase a new set of brushes. If you watch my YouTube videos then you know I used to rave about Crown Brushes! This was the second set of brushes I ever owned, and they were very good to me. However, the more and more I start to do other people's make-up, as well as my own, I noticed that I couldn't get my brushes clean fast enough. SO I decided to get a second set of brushes. I didn't go with Crown Brush because I wanted something of a little better quality, and I noticed they were starting to shed!

I opted to go with Sigma Brushes, and let me tell you hunnnnnyyyyyyyy, I have seen the light!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are the SOFTEST brushes I have ever used in my LIFE! They allow you to buy single brushes or kits! I went with their newer "Make Me Up" Kits in purple, aka "Make Me Crazy".

The kit comes with 12 brushes all labeled, on the handles, with an "E"(eye) or a"F"(face) as well as the functions of the brushes. This is a GREAT starter kit for anyone who is just starting out, or if you just want to add a little flare to your makeup collection. They also come in pink, teal, and black!

Included brushes:
Eyeliner - E05, Pencil - E30, Tapered Blending - E40, Eye Shading - E55, Large Shader - E60, Small Angle - E65, Medium Angled Shading - E70, Large Powder - F30, Large Angled Contour - F40, Duo Fibre - F50, Foundation - F60,and Concealer - F70. It's hard to pick a favorite, but those face brushes feel sooo good when you're putting on powder and things. Some are synthetic, some are natural.. and they feel divine.

I'm thinking about doing a video on how/when to use each of these brushes! If you guys want to see that, let me know! Keep me posted on your purchases of any of these brushes! I want to know if anyone else is as deep in love as I am! Ahhh!!! I'm excited!

Ok... I need to go now.... My dork is showing! Teehee

Edit... I've actually done the video! A lot of people said they needed it, so I hope it helped! You can watch that here! Dont forget to rate, comment, and subscribe!

Nars Laguna Bronzer Review

If you're someone who watches a lot of YouTube videos or a lot of Blogs centered around beauty/ makeup than you have heard a TON about this bronzer already. If you don't.... let me put you on to what may be the greatest creation in life! haha

I just worked up the desire (and coin) to purchase Nars' Laguna bronzer because I couldn't bring myself to spend so much on it! It costs about $33 at all the places you can imagine getting it (Sephora, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, etc.) but every penny is well spent. This bronzer is perfect for contouring your face! When I wear it I have the cheekbones from heaven! It does not give off a muddy color, but since I am slightly tan, I have to use a few swipes to get it where I want it to be. Honestly, I would rather have it that way versus it being TOO pigmented and I walk around like I just finished playing in dirt!

I completely explain how I contour my face using Nars Laguna Bronzer in this video and trust me, this is a trick you WANT to learn. Overall, if you can find somewhere else in your beauty routine to cut costs, like eyeshadow, this bronzer is a must have!!!
